Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' debut female singer for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her Pho EP. This was the moment that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet in 2012 when she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, she continued to share her music over the web, including her own release single Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate together with Rihanna. It was announced on December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed as part of her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening performance. In 2018, she went on to guest feature on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video came out on the 5th. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles, 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. She then released on November 13 two new singles called No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single as a way in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. It was released with an accompanying music video that debuted that was released on February 20, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
